A little IYAM history
If you've never seen or heard of the rock band IYAM, it
is not because they have not been around. Since 1983 songwriting team Kirk
Layne, on drums/vocals, and Al Gollehon, on bass/backup
vocals, have been cranking out metal in various projects.
Developing a unique yet seductive style over the years,
in 1986 they invited guitarist Myke Starr to audition
and then join to make what was a high energy trio, playing some clubs and
parties, but mainly developing recording techniques.
In January of 1994 drummer and friend Robert Cordray was
offered a chance to take over the percussion section when Kirk decided to
move up to the front stage with the vocals. Robert did a great job on "All
Is Well", but was forced to leave unexpectedly soon after the recording
was finished.
Enter Ian Carroll, professional drummer
for over 10 years. Ian is a natural, coming from a family of performers.
With an incredible drumming style and hard rock attitude, it was obvious
on the first audition that Ian was the guy for the thrown.
